Getting Married in India!!

And we’re off!

Puji and I didn’t have the most traditional start to a marriage, but at this point we wouldn’t have it any other way. A year after being pronounced husband and wife, we are traveling to India to have a Hindu ceremony and I thought I’d share the travel adventures with anyone who’s interested.

Puji got a head start on the traveling, arriving in Hyderabad the day after Thanksgiving, and getting to see her family in person for the first time in several years. After a week or two messaging and skype calls, my dad and I will be joining her and getting to meet her family in Hyderabad. Most likely a night or two there to sleep off some jet lag, then a trip to another friend’s wedding, then we’ll be heading to Khammam for our wedding ceremony on December 14th, 7pm India time (6:30 am CST).

After having some beers with friends at Lambert airport in St. Louis, my Pa and I had a nice and easy Southwest flight to Dallas where we’ll stay the night before hopping on a 14.5 hour flight to Dubai. After a 3 hour layover in the UAE we’ll leave for the final 3.5 hour flight to Hyderabad, India where I’ll finally get to meet my in laws. Looking forward to meeting the other side of the family, having some great food, seeing some amazing sights, and enjoying my first international travelling experience!
